How to use your Mandarin Poster

If you’re reading this page then either your Mandarin Poster has already arrived and you’re pondering where on earth will be best to hang it, or you’re waiting to order a poster but are still confused about how you can use it. We’re here to help! The following are a few ideas on how you can use the poster to get the most out of your Chinese studies. (This page is a word in progress, so hang in there as we add content)

Hang it somewhere you’ll see it

It sounds obvious, but the last thing you want to do is hang it somewhere that you rarely look. Make sure it’s in a place that you pass or look at often, that way you’ll be forced to look at it, or when you take a break from working or are waiting for food to cook you can take a few minutes to review some characters. So what places you could hang mandarin Poster?

• Above the TV
• Next to or above your desk or work area
• In the hallway
• On the ceiling above your bed – It’ll give you something to look at while you ponder whether or not to get up today!
• In the bathroom – ok, we’re getting out of hand now, but you get the idea!

Write on it

We know it’s beautiful, but it’s there to be used. Don’t be afraid to use a whiteboard marker to write directly onto the poster. It’s laminated so the pen will wipe right off. Use the pen to mark off characters that you have learned already or divide the characters into groups for the week ahead. You could even use different colour marker pens to indicate trouble words, or words that need extra time to review – the choice is yours.
